Engage With Your Teachers
Make time for one-on-one meetings with your teachers to discuss areas of difficulty or scope for academic extension. Not only will this demonstrate your passion for the subject and drive to take your learning into your own hands â which may be handy when itâs time to have references written â but it also ensures that you address any concerns as soon as they arise.
Know The Marking Scheme Of Ib

For each subject, students are given a score out of 7. There are additional 3 points for completing TOK and EE elements which makes it to a total of 45 points. Students are required to achieve 24 marks out of 45 in order to qualify the IB exams. However, if you want to get into a top university, you must score more than 24 points.
If your aim is to achieve a grade 7 in your IB Test then start attempting questions in a timed environment and then see if your answers are in accordance with the marking scheme. You can find the exact marking scheme from your school. In this way, you can learn how to exactly attempt questions in the exam without worrying how much you need to write.

Understand How Points Are Allotted
Understanding how points are allotted helps you decide how to handle those questions that you do not know the answers to.
For example, you do not lose marks for wrong answers in the AP exams. This means, if you do not know the answer to a question, it is better to guess rather than leave it blank. This way, you have a 50% chance of being right.
The IB exams, on the other hand, do not focus too much on multiple-choice questions. Their point scheme is also quite different. The maximum score you can get for each question is mentioned in the test itself. A good strategy for taking the IB exams is to first answer all questions that are worth higher points and then answer the lower point questions.

If you know the answers to all questions but do not finish writing them down within the given time frame, you will end up losing points.
Going into the exam without having done this exercise is a mistake. Its especially a mistake if you tend to do most of your writing on the computer. You could find yourself struggling to maintain the speed necessary to complete the exam.
