Be Proactive And Ask For Help
Never leave problems unsolved.
Deal with problems in your understanding immediately. Knowledge is like a house of cards. You need a solid foundation before you can build the beautiful arches and domes at the top .
If you build on a weak foundation, everything you learn later in the course will not be able to hold itself up. London bridge is falling down
Avoid these troubles by ensuring your complete understanding of course material when it is being taught.
- Ask your teacher.
Dont let problems fester and come back to haunt you.

Ib Exam Revision: Five Quick Tips
Make connections about the information youre trying to learn. You can try and connect facts to each other, or attach extra information to facts you know well, or put information into a framework you already understand. But trying to remember facts without understanding them is very difficult and almost pointless.
Divide a topic into half a dozen sections and study them over different weeks. That way you get more practice thinking about the items of information. So, for example, you take Cells in Biology and study their structure one week, the different kinds of cells the next week, processes within cells the next week, etc.
Repeated short tests are very effective. It looks as though its the effort of trying to retrieve information that makes it stick in your head, not just seeing or repeating it. So, if you can find a way to give yourself tests once a week on difficult topics, that will help. Looking at lots of past papers is effectively doing this.
Study early rather than late. Okay, a lot of complications here, but its fairly clear that if you have a lot of work to do its much better to get up early and do it, than to stay up late. If you stay up late, you think youre working, but actually you monitor yourself badly, you have micro-sleeps without knowing, your recall rate goes down, and your performance the next day usually suffers.

Constant Revision And Practice
Havent you heard Practice makes a man perfect!
Once you have completed your syllabus, do constant revision. You cannot master anything for the first time. The secret to success in IB exams is a good revision plan.
There is a difference between studying the topic and revising the topics. The difference is that when you study anything for the first time you go into its depth to understand each and every concept related to the topic. You even make comprehensive notes and devote more time to fully conceptualizing the topic. But when you are in the revising stage you dont have to give so much time as you did for the first time. You have less time so you trust yourself that you have already conceptualized everything in and out of the particular topic and all younow need to do is study the notes and practice questions.
Another essential part of revision is solving the model questions and exam papers. Unless you solve the question bank and previous exam papers you wont get the idea of the type of questions asked and how to answer a particular question. Students majority of the time get to know the most important questions for exams from the exam papers itself. There are always questions which are being repeated every year with little changes, these questions are sure shot scorer in exams. You can track these types of questions from analyzing and solving model papers.

Make Sure Ib Is Right For You
The first tip is a short one but still important nonetheless. You should ensure that the IB is the right fit for you. Its no use forcing yourself to do it if you have no interest in it whatsoever. The IB is an amazing course which will help you grow as a young adult and prepare you for life by arming you with a variety of skills. But if it isnt for you, it just isnt.
Dont waste your time and energy forcing yourself into a mold that you dont fit into. I know countless students who transferred from the IB to either the A-Levels or the Foundation Program and are happier because of it. Theres no shame in knowing that you learn differently from others and need a different approach to education. If you can wrap that idea around your head, youre already ahead of the curve.

In general in the IB, its very important to prioritise your tasks. When you have a maths IA due in five days and a unit test tomorrow, you have to make the decision of whether its more important to perfect your IA or cram for your test.
Even if you manage your time really well, at some point, the sheer amount of things youre doing will result in situations where you have to put something aside to focus on whats important and doing that is not a failure.
When it comes to exams prep specifically, do lots of past papers and read the marking schemes to figure out exactly what examiners want from you.

I recommend reviewing concepts frequently, while trying to tackle certain topics that might be more challenging than the rest. I found it very useful to do past paper questions and review the mistakes that I made consistently.
When youre taking notes, it also helps to review with your friends and build a strong support system to encourage each other.
