A heart palpitation is the feeling of an irregular beating pattern of the heart. Usually, an episode can last between a second and up to a minute. A palpitation can be categorised into four different types:

  • A rapid heartbeat This is called Tachycardia and accounts for most heart palpitations associated with anxiety.
  • Heart skipping a beat very common in most people but people with anxiety are particularly sensitive and prone to it.
  • Chest flutters or medically known as a Premature Ventricular Contraction .
  • A slow heartbeat This is called a Bradycardia.

    • Avoid sitting or standing for long periods of time.
    • Avoid heat. Take lukewarm or cool baths and showers.
    • Talk with your healthcare provider before taking any over-the-counter medicine or supplement.
    • Ask your healthcare provider if you can drink caffeinated beverages or eat foods with artificial sweeteners. Caffeine should be avoided if you have a raised heart rate. Artificial sweeteners can cause migraines in some people.

    Lifestyle Changes To Treat Constipation

    There are three basic lifestyle changes that can aid in relieving and preventing constipation. They include:

    • Getting regular physical activity. Exercising on most days of the week increases activity in your intestines. Be sure to talk with your doctor before starting an exercise routine.
    • Increasing the fiber in your diet. Women should get 25 grams and men need 38 grams per day. But going too fast when you increase fiber can cause gas and bloating. So, gradually add fiber to your diet over a few weeks. Also, be sure to drink enough fluid as you increase fiber. Aim for 2 to 2.5 liters of water per day.
    • Not ignoring the urge to go. When you respond to the urge, it reinforces the nerve reflex. Ignoring it can make it more difficult to go when you finally do.

    Hi im 22 and is my first time posting here …. i have been diagnosed first with costochondritis but now a doctor say I have a spine condition , my syntoms are chest pain radiating to the arm, wrist and shoulders, i have a painfull cracking in the base of the neck when the back begins, 4 months past since the first epidose and along this time i sometimes feel strong heart beat when laying down or when i stand up, and a feeling like vertigo in the stomach or chest , i dont know if this is anxiaety cause im a nervous person or something else , i read about the vagus nerve and heart problems that a cervical spine injury can cause and it scare me a lot, tomorrow i ll get some x rays for confirm the spine problem, do you think this wear sensations in the chest are caused by anxiety or there´s really a heart problem cause by a cervical injury there? could it be dangerous?, i get a EKG when the chest pain begin and all is ok, but im still scared , thank you for the answers!
