Hi Ive had a ongoing pain under my left ribs for about 6 weeks now and it some times happens in my right ribs and allso lower back pain on and off and pain in kidney area and allso frequent urination Ive always suffered with irregular bowl movements since being a young boy Im waiting for blood results to come back but my doctor has reassured me she thinks they will be fine Im wondering if anyone has any idea as Im rather worried and can not stop thinking about it

  Hi Ive been tested for urinary infections and they were all clear Ive never officially been diagnosed with IBS although Ive allways thought I had it but where would the urinary part come from Im so worried it could be colon cancer I know dramatic but still worrying

  Urinary tract problems can occur with IBS.The proximity of all these organs can cause this. If your doctor has reassured you, I would trust your doctor and do not worry. Worry will make your symptoms considerably worse. Try distraction techniques to keep your mind off your symptoms.

I am getting pains just of centre under sternum and round and under right ribs after food. Does anyone else get this. Last month I had a ct with contrast of abdomen which was clear and also an ultrasound. But am very worried would help to know of others with same pain and ibs which I have had for years.

  I used to get this pain and sometimes it was very bad.

  It turned out that I had a peptic stomach ulcer which was diagnosed with a barium meal test.

  The GP soon sorted it out with some prescribed medicine.

  It might be worth asking if you might have a stomach ulcer. My ulcer was caused by bad eating habits and worry!

  Dear Bob and everyone that answered. Helps to know you are not alone. Bob I had an upper endoscopy 2 years ago and found only a hiatal hernia I really suspected an ulcer. Latest ct found nothing so flexture syndrome could be it. I ate a lot of chocolates the night before but I was getting twinges before. Today it is pretty sore to bend and food does aggrevate it quite a bit of pain in back. I am not constipated so wondered if that rules out the colon swelling under ribs. Any advice appreciated
