Lets first start with the pelvic pain from ovarian cancer. For this topic is Teresa P. Diaz-Montes, MD, of the Gynecologic Oncology Center at Mercy Medical Center, Baltimore, MD.
Dr. Diaz-Montes first notes that the pelvic pain is usually local to the pelvis: the lower abdominal area, beneath the belly button.
The pain could be more localized to one side of the pelvis depending on the size and location of the ovarian mass, she says.
The pain is usually constant and not aggravated by movement.; It can be associated with a sensation of pressure in the pelvis.
A women may complain of a new onset of constipation or urinary frequency .
This is due to the compression of the pelvic mass on the adjacent organs.
If the mass is too big, it may be able to be palpated on examination.; This can also cause abdominal distention and the sensation of bloating.
The intensity of the pain depends of the size of the mass.; When the ovarian mass is small, the pain is dull and described as a discomfort.
When the mass is larger, the pain could be very intense and sharp, requiring the use of pain medications.

What Is Leaky Gut Syndrome
Leaky Gut is increased intestinal permeability, which is associated with a variety of conditions.
Intestinal permeability is basically how easily something can move through the cells of our intestinal barrier. This barrier allows the good guys to cross into the gut and acts to stop the bad guys from entering . So if intestinal permeability increases, larger substances can cross the gut barrier more easily.; This then increases risk of disease and GI complications.
The exact cause of Leaky Gut remains unknown. Impaired gut barrier function and increased intestinal permeability has been associated with a variety of conditions, particularly Irritable Bowl Disease and Coeliac Disease. Other conditions which have been linked to altered gut barrier function include GI infections such as salmonella and gastroenteritis, IBS, liver disease, food intolerances, and chronic fatigue.
Other factors which can increase intestinal permeability include a low fibre diet, antibiotic use, alcohol consumption, high fat foods, and use of Non-Steroid Anti-Inflammatory Drugs such as ibuprofen.

A treatment clinical trial is a research study meant to help improve current treatments or obtain information on new treatments for patients with cancer. When clinical trials show that a new treatment is better than the treatment currently used as standard treatment, the new treatment may become the standard treatment. Patients with any stage of ovarian cancer may want to think about taking part in a clinical trial. Some clinical trials are open only to patients who have not started treatment.

The Following Stages Are Used For Ovarian Epithelial Fallopian Tube And Primary Peritoneal Cancer:
Stage I
In stage I, cancer is found in one or both ovaries or fallopian tubes. Stage I is divided into stage IA, stage IB, and stage IC.
- Stage IA: Cancer is found inside a single ovary or fallopian tube.
- Stage IB: Cancer is found inside both ovaries or fallopian tubes.
- Stage IC: Cancer is found inside one or both ovaries or fallopian tubes and one ofthe following is true:
- cancer is also found on the outside surface of one or both ovaries or fallopian tubes; or
- the capsule of the ovary ruptured before or during surgery; or
- cancer cells are found in the fluid of the peritoneal cavity or in washings of the peritoneum .
Stage II
In stage II, cancer is found in one or both ovaries or fallopian tubes and has spread into other areas of thepelvis, or primary peritoneal cancer is found within the pelvis. Stage II ovarian epithelial and fallopian tube cancers are divided into stage IIA and stage IIB.
- Stage IIA: Cancer has spread from where it first formed to theuterus and/or thefallopian tubes and/or the ovaries.
- Stage IIB: Cancer has spread from the ovary or fallopian tube to organs in the peritoneal cavity .
Stage III
In stage III, cancer is found in one or both ovaries or fallopian tubes, or is primary peritoneal cancer, and has spread outside the pelvis to other parts of the abdomen and/or to nearby lymph nodes. Stage III is divided into stage IIIA, stage IIIB, and stage IIIC.

What Causes Cervical Cancer
Nearly all cervical cancers are the;result of HPV which causes a change in cell DNA in the cervix. For this reason, the NHS introduced a HPV vaccination programme in 2008 offered to girls around 12-13 years old.;From September 2019, the HPV vaccine will be offered to both girls and boys aged 12 and 13. Sandra Fenton was 67 when she was diagnosed with stage four ovarian cancer. Looking back, she realised shed been experiencing symptoms for some time.
She had excuses for tiredness and lethargy: she was busy preparing to move from New Zealand back to Australia to help look after her grandchildren.
She says, I was working 10 hour shifts and preparing to move. I was tired, but I was working so much.
It made sense: even her doctor at the time agreed that this was probably the case.
She also had lower pelvic pain, but nothing extreme.
It was more of a niggle, Sandra says. I didnt realise it was a symptom.
While it seems logical to expect a disease as serious as cancer to cause serious pain, in Sandras case, the twinge in her stomach was easy to dismiss.
After arriving back in Australia, Sandra still didnt feel quite right, but put it down to the stress of the move and adjusting from the cool New Zealand climate to the hot and humid end of an Ipswich summer.
I felt lethargic, I became withdrawn, but I put it down to the heat. I used to love dancing, but instead I stayed home in my room. I had horrendous night sweats, but I thought it was because I was still going through the change.
It wasnt until one morning in January when she woke up with an extremely bloated stomach that Sandra knew something was very wrong.
But, after enduring a long period of treatment first chemotherapy and then surgery Sandra made it through and is now happily cancer free.

Molecular Tests For Gene Changes
In some cases of ovarian cancer, doctors might look for specific gene changes in the cancer cells that could mean certain targeted or immunotherapy drugs might help treat the cancer. These molecular tests can be done on a piece of the cancer taken during a biopsy or surgery for ovarian cancer.
BRCA1 and BRCA2 gene mutations: BRCA genes are normally involved in DNA repair and mutations in these genes can keep DNA broken and the cells unable to work correctly. This can cause cells to grow out of control and turn into cancer. Some ovarian cancers have BRCA gene mutations.
MSI and MMR gene testing: Women who have clear cell, endometrioid, or mucinous ovarian cancer might have their tumor tested to see if it shows high levels of gene changes called microsatellite instability . Testing might also be done to see if the cancer cells have changes in any of the mismatch repair genes .;
Changes in MSI or in MMR genes are often seen in people with Lynch syndrome . Up to 10% of all ovarian epithelial cancers have changes in these genes.

How Colon Cancer Develops
Colon cancer begins with small polyps in the intestine. When they are small, there are few if any symptoms at all. These polyps, however, can gradually mutate into cancerous cells.
There is a five year 92% survival rate if colon cancer is caught in its early stages. The rate drops if caught later. To be safe, begin having screenings at age 45 unless you have other risk factors that may warrant diagnostic testing at a younger age.

What Are The Symptoms
- Persistent bloating not bloating that comes and goes
- Feeling full quickly and/or loss of appetite
- Pelvic or abdominal pain
- Urinary symptoms
Occasionally there can be other symptoms:
- Changes in bowel habit
- Extreme fatigue
- Unexplained weight loss
- Any bleeding after the menopause should always be investigated by a GP

When To See The Doctor
Experts recommend that most people get screened for colorectal cancer regularly once they turn 50. People who have a family history of the disease, though, may need to get screened earlier.
Certain GI disorders, like inflammatory bowel disease, also raise the odds of colorectal cancer. And it can be hard to tell their symptoms apart. So if you have Crohnâs disease or ulcerative colitis, especially if youâve had them for a long time, you may benefit from earlier, more regular screening. Make sure to let your doctor know if you have any new symptoms that worry you.
If youâre having symptoms, itâs best to make an appointment with your doctor to figure out if they could be caused by a GI disorder, colorectal cancer, or another problem. Trust your instincts, whether you have a specific problem or something less concrete, like feeling you canât quite finish bowel movements once you start them.
Your primary care doctor may decide to refer you to a specialist called a gastroenterologist. These doctors have extra training in diagnosing GI disorders and colorectal cancer.
