Second, please continue to look for the root cause of your constipation. While this smoothie works, consider other changes or insights that may eliminate the need for supplements .

- Consider the vitamin A detox diet. This is the diet that allowed me to stop taking my iron supplement. My iron supplement was the cause of my constipation. When the liver is overloaded with vitamin A, it pushes iron out.
